I started this blog with the intention of noting and photographing anything I found interesting. In other words, it is my digital scrap book or work book .
So far, it has changed the way I work. The categories and tags have helped me to identify themes and cross overs in my interests. I recommend this process to any person interested in creativity. As there is not too much importance laid on each entry, there is a great freedom in posting up anything in a fairly instinctive, speedy way, without the pressure that often comes with making a single piece of work.
It is fascinating that no two peoples scrapbooks, blogs or notebooks are the same. So they are very revealing and helpful in the creative process.
Some time ago, when websites were made in flash, my portfolio site was the top of a coffee table, with clickable objects such as books, coffee cup and a snow dome. I was working in TV. Hence the name Coffee Table TV.
To add to that, I like the contrast between the everyday imagery of coffee, biscuits, and the living room combined with epic titles often found in coffee table books, such as The Universe, Knowledge and Animal Kingdom. Coffee table books are also full of large pictures.
